Both my 98 and 89 let me down today.

The 98 had a slight squeel last time i drove it,i suspected a bad tensioner brg and had picked up a replacement brg
just in case.
Today i fired it up to go to town and it started squeeling like stuck pig.
Tensioner was good, was VAC pump had locked up.

so i did a VAC pump amputation/delete):h I got a TM anyway,I managed to get that sucker out without removing any thing else, but now needed a shorter belt.

So i started the 89,guess what,it started squeeling like a pig as well, WTF now.

Happened to be front alt brg had given up the ghost.
So i took the alt off and peeled the remains of the brg out,as luck would have it the brg intended for the 98 tensioner was a perfect fit for the alt as well.
1/2 hr later i was back on the road to get a belt:thumbsup:
At the parts store they had only one belt that would come close to what i had eyeballed i needed .
lucky me,it fitted perfectly on the 98.:smile5:

Old Murphy must have been picking on some one else after he thought he had me good :D

Ok, in all seriousness glad you had some good luck Bison, Murphy doesn't slip up that often.
