I need Torque Specs for my C3500 spindle nut

I love this truck BUT it's a pain in the butt when I need something. most catalogs fail to mention a C3500 series and the few that do ignore the major facts that there are several different brake rotors and other parts for this truck than the other c3500's .

ok here's my major problem I hope one of you went through this and found the correct answer. I need the spindle nut torque specs for a 1992 Chevy HEAVY DUTY Dually C3500 4 door crew cab PU . Apparently all that info must be included in the question and the answer because there is at least 1 or 2 C3500 single wheel trucks and possibly 2 versions of the C3500 Dually with 1 that used smaller brake rotors and other parts as well as the big HD one that fits my truck and costs far more . At least that's what different parts books said
Searching online I found the rotors and calipers and pads I needed, however the bearings they gave me did not fit, so the search continued until I just ordered all the bearings and took my old ones to compare each with. No my old bearings had no numbers on them
finally got all the correct parts and put it together but I saw the inner race was not a tight fit and spun freely, so I looked up torque settings and again found that all sites had no reference to a C3500 HD DUALLY . In fact, most did not list a dually version at all.
The results which did not say which version of the C3500 the torque specs were for varied from only 12 ft lbs to a whopping 180 ft lbs.
Calls to Chevy and GMC service departments and bearing suppliers were useless, so I called the General's corporate Customer Service line , where a sweet young lady took my VIN and listened to my tale of the HD Dually , then did the research and called me back about 35 minutes later and told me it called for 12ft lbs torque, which just does not sound correct as I tried torqueing it to 80 ft lbs and the wheel spins fairly well.
My question and hope here is, has anyone here had this problem before and found the correct answer?
If not, does anyone have a service book like Chiltons who can please look it up in full.... 1992 C3500 HD Dually 4 door crew cab with 454 engine to see what the correct torque is on that spindle nut?.
I'm way out in the sticks and none of the car parts places within 30 miles have any repair books on this truck
The reasons I am asking here is because I do not want to have a bearing crap out on the 1500 mile trip I have to make towing a 24' box trailer that weighs about 10,000 lbs and would cost a small fortune to get both towed.
I'm kinda tempted to buy an extra set of bearings to bring along and set 1 side at 12 lbs and the other side at 80 where it is , carry a floor jack, tools, spare pads, caliper and rotor then try to stay off bridges and toll roads so if it breaks down, I can stop and fix whatever side goes bad

Thanks Ak. I couldn't read it but you told me and that's what counts.

you confirmed the GM, girls response and also included the reason of the difference in Ft Lbs that none of the sites mentioned. When listing the vehicles they only said c3500 with no respect to it being 2 or 4 wd. Thanks a million! If it weren't so late and raining I'd go do them now


One other question how do you post pics here? The site keeps telling me 'Why not post a picture" but I can not find the way to do that

The 4x4 trucks have two roller bearings, the 2 wheel drives have cone bearings. I don't torque them, just tighten until resistance is felt then back off so the cotter pin can be put through the castigated nut.
