I was sitting at the fuel pump filling up my truck when an older gentlemen ~70's pulled up and started asking about my truck, and as always I am up for a convo!

He asked if I wanted to pull parts off of a truck he found (bought for parts) 99 3500 HD 6.5L. HECK YEAH show me the way!

Pulling Parts on monday!

Hope you offered to help him with his own parts work... if he bought the truck for parts, either you or him could learn something from the other, and it's always nice to help old guys!
 
What else is left of the truck? Says a circling vulture... :D
 
Good find, Diesel gods smiled on you, sounds like he mite be a 6.5 guy, you need to invite him to join up, see what else he wants to part with, actually if I was you I'd see what he wanted for the whole truck and part it out, have a look at the glovebox RPO list sticker might be some interior baubles guys would want.
 
I wish there was more of you guys closer to me.i got a whole truck(front damage) minus the engine to part out,no takers so far in two years!!
 
LOL... there is that...

Auto parts and most used vehicles are duty-free... we do have to pay GST (goods and services tax, 5%) on everything over our personal exemption.

And like you said, shipping is an issue.

Problem with getting parts to/from Bison is he's so far off the beaten path they ship him daylight by mule train. :)

I would'nt trade where i'm at for anything.If there are more than 2 cars on the road within a ml of each other i think its a traffic jam,time to move deeper in the bush.:smile5:

Not much after I get done! The block which he says is locked up, heads not sure how they look, radiator, oil cooler, LP, injectors, glow plugs, IP lines, and some of the interior (no seat).

He wants the frame, axles, and trans for another truck.

I sat around and talked to him for over 3 hours and he has alot of irons in the fire! He has 3 vortec 350's being rebuilt for his fleet, 1 tbi 350 for his personal truck, 1 tbi 305 that he bought and rebuilt and is now for sale (very tempting for my worn out gasser!), he is a handy man, runs 5 bucket trucks for hire, and runs a srapping business.

I did tell him that my family has a BIG pile of scrap that my grandpa bought, collect, or old equipment that needs hauled off. He said he will take a look at it and I think in September he will pick it up.
 
Update! I was able to get the whole long block and all engine related components for only a couple more $! I just need to pull it, the front clip is off so it will be a piece of cake.
