You make the 6.5 an addicting motor you know that? Browsing craigslist today I found this:

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/1591153215.html

I have been rolling the thought of a project truck other than my daily driver... And its a K3500 dually CCLB... drool much?

The money is there... Especially with Tax returns right around the corner. What say you?

Also, how much should I offer if he will go lower on price? The rebuilt trans alone is worth it....

I vote "MAYBE"

If you have a motor that needs a new home & a nice shop to take yr time & do the install swap then rock on.

If you have to go find a replacement motor, why not just take yr time & spend a little more on one that's running?

If yr into working on things, kinda like hobby then go for it, but consider what you may have invested when it's all done including yr time & at least consider what that amount may buy you...so ya don't end up with a 94 that you have $6K in. For $6 grand you have many choices to consider.

Just sharing my thoughts...kind of why I posted my 200K post question, trying to figure out myself just how much I want to sink into my 200,000 mile 1995...hard to spend the cash especially if ya don't have it or better yet have it & would like to keep it! LOL

No mention of miles, condition of tires, when brakes were done last. Why would torsion bars need to be replaced? And crossmember? Pictures do not show rust prone areas. As said, you could end up with more than $6000in a 94 that has 300,000 miles. Only worth $3000. $700 if in excelant condition and good tires[$1000 to replace tires on a dually] I didn't vote. Not enough info. Looks like a extended cab not a crew cab.

All good points from various different angles. I haven't even asked the seller anything yet but I figured I would put it up here first and see who likes and who says ah to hell with it. Right now I'm leaning on waiting. I still have to get the springs in for Big Blue, then the new rubber and tires to tie it all together.

As for a motor, I could very easily make that thing the subject for the New Holland motor instead of Big blue and just go ahead and improve along the 6.5 right now that I already I have.

I can always get more info from the seller and more pictures. I'll send him an email now and get more specifics. It does look like both sides of the rear are missing a tire. One inner and one obviously on the outer.

voted Yes, only if you put her back on the road. always good to see a 6.5 saved from the crusher. i think if you can have less than $3500 in her when done, it will be worth it.

I'm the lone no vote. That's got money pit written all over it. UNLESS you can get it for $500 or less. Then I'd change my vote.

doesn't have the CC rear door handles, as mentioned above think its a extended cab.

see if he can furnish paperwork on that 10k trans.

The dates on those pictures are over 1 1/2 years old.

No Vote with caviat. What caused the motor to blow? More history and discussion with owner would be a must before paying the asking price or going low with the offer. As for a project truck, is everything the way you want with yours? Something to consider as well.

X2

Spend the money on some friggin bigger tires and wheels for your truck.

Friends don't let friends ride around too long with two feet of lift and stock tires/wheels ):h

I voted no
