i got two questions...CDR and a head gasget ??/

I have a ton of blow by from my CDR how do i know when its not working right? Im guessing it needs to be replaced...

second thing I think I might have a head gasget leak I get a good amount of white smoak on start ups and a small amout at idle... (truck has new glows) what is a good way to check for a leak? Also should I have alot pressure in my cooling system when I crack the cap like on a gas motor?? I have had some coolent loss but a I had a leaky lower hose that I replaced today So I wont know if its still loosing coolent till I get to drive it some more.

Read that link, second article for info on testing the cdr.

Does the upper rad hose get hard fairly soon after starting? That is a sign of head gasket leakage.
