I got my first truck back…

yeah im hoping not too bad. we get heat but not much humidity. 🤞

if no good options and you plan to keep the truck you could swap seats from a newer truck into it. im sure you could figure out some brackets but these guys seem to have a number of options from different years, etc. dont know anything about their quality, etc. just a google search and pretty pricey!

but looks pretty sweet.

Not many updates on this one for now. I basically put it to work and it’s been super helpful in cleaning up the backyard at my parents the last few weekends (unfortunately dad was a bit of a hoarder — thankfully limited to the yard and garage). I’ve done 3 or 4 full dump runs with it and odd around town runs without much issue. I still need to take care of the crappy blown out speakers but priorities. Also would be nice to get A/C working on this thing. For now just adding miles (298,700 most recently).

I feel your pain. Going through downsizing with family as well. Except that us 'yung-uns' are not really allowed to help with the downsizing as the elders think that they can both manage with giving the bazillion items of "treasure" away, and that a lot of it will fit in the much smaller living space.

Not helping is that the home is in a different jurisdiction from where the rest of us live where, even if we could haul stuff to the dump, we are not local residents and either not allowed into the dump, or have to pay. But this doesn't really matter as we are not allowed to remove the stuff anyway.

Am sure that the end result in my case is that the new space will look like the old space: hoarder's dream home...

The painful part is having to sit back and silently watch this train-wreck in progress as some things are just not worth the fight. With this, I visit a couple times a month just to make sure the bills are getting paid and the house is not collapsing. Also have to spend time to make sure that people are not trying to pray on the folks and have already prevented a few scam attempts (including from some well known nationwide companies (not naming names) where one of them received a certified letter to their President to address their questionable performance). Yeah, I don't play when others misbehave.

Oh well, sometimes our seniors just have to learn their own lessons the hard way...

Same here. I have a lot of stuff to get rid of
I've fought throwing away all of the gmt400 stuff.

I haven't been able to advertise stuff that I can't move. Because the fuel tank needs swapped on the backhoe.
Sheets of 10 ga. Diamond plate.
Other stuff.
I'm not up to getting ready for an auction. That would be the easiest way to get rid of everything.
Then I'd have to find a new place to live. Going to town isn't an option, yet.

Maybe in a couple months I'll bounce back enough to take care of a few things

I have an old barn shed with two additions onto it.
Full of “ STUFF “. Parts fir the 59 W100 Dodge. Lots of MG parts and an array of all sorts of parts, old bicycles and some just plain old junk.
Maybe someday with some help from my son I can get that cleared out.
One problem with the MG stuff is that I think that I’m about the only person within a vast expanse of eastern Montana that has an MG B, so selling those components at auction would be a loosing proposition.
I have thought if loading most of it into the truck and hauling it to scrap but then I think, what if this or that on the MG should break ? Oh well

I feel that pain too.

A few years ago the Missus and I had a blow-up and a lot of my stuff was simply purged under the argument that it was all junk and she did not want to see all that junk. Funny thing is that it was already in the house when we got married. Even more funny is that all the newly emptied shelf space was magically back-filled with her stuff within two months. Hmmm....

Since then I have simply started to throw away stuff given that it was all declared junk. Now when I need spare parts or supplies, I have to buy new rather than scout through what was on the shelf. Sure this is not helpful to the budget, but whatever... Every few months I focus on a new section of the collections and trim down to what I know I will get used in the next year. Some things I have a tough time letting go due to the history of the item and sometimes am able to successfully gift it to a a grateful individual. The goal is to eventually leave the current house with just some clothing, and move nothing.

Semi-related, I no longer buy presents for others that will sit around collecting dust at their house. Instead of gifting things, I send food items like cheese assortments or meats that the individual will enjoy and can share. Although, I did send an air horn setup as I knew that a buddy wanted to make his truck a little more noticeable

Lol just had a go round today aba piece of conduit.

I've had it awhile. Haven't used it yet, so it's junk. That would also describe my ball joint press and a lot of other stuff

I started sending 1ounce silver rounds for gifts.
Only people I buy birthday gifts for is the grandchildrens. Six of those total.
Birthdays, graduations, Christmas and any other worthy time in their lives, a one ounce round is about $35.00 and takes up little room.
I think I’m going for the ten ounce is cheaper deal then I’ll have rounds for a couple if occasions.
