Does anyone know where I can find a set of NEW 6.5 rod bolts.....

GM has quit making them and tell me that they are not available anymore, and ARP doesn't make them either......

Anyone know where I can find some, someone has to be making them for the P400 & GEP motors I would think.....

I am waiting to see what Heath has to say now....

ARP does make them.... I don't see them in the catalog.... But I talked to one of their tech dept guys on the phone a few days ago and he quoted me a price for 6.5 rod bolts. I don't recall what the part number was. Give them a call and see what you come up with.

That's funny, I talked to them today and they told me that they were working on the design for them but they weren't ready to sale yet... how about that, that's how my luck is going with this build.

If it's like the head studs you may have to specify it's for a 6.2

The guy you talked to may not know they're the same.
 
Sorry, I got the last 2 bags of 10 3 months ago that's what the dealer down the road told me when I rebuilt the bottom half of my 6.2 with all new studs and nuts.
 
If you find an ARP part # for them let me know I can probaly same you some $$.
 
Well more bad news, Peninsular cannot get them, ARP teck said they don't have anything for the 6.2 or 6.5, GEP can't sell them. The teck at ARP told me to make a drawing if the bolt for the 6.5 and he would see if something else would work. Now I need to find some mics and do some drawing I guess,,,,, the hit's just keep coming............
 
Hopefully you can measure the length and size of a 6.5 rod bolt and see what they have. It's gotta be close to some common engine rod bolt, big block chevy, ford..... something.
 
NOPE, Bill Heath has tried that and nothing is close without a lot of machining on the rods, so for now I am hoping that someone finds a set hidden on a shelf somewhere.
 
Not saying it aint true, but its hard to believe. Who has a rod bolt they can get exact diamentions on?
 
I have found a GEP supplier that said he can sell the bolts to anyone, I am going to confirm this tomorrow and when I know all the info for sure I will post a new thread here and on the other site.

This person is with W.W. Williams, we are going to talk in the am again and he will have part# and prices and ordering details for me, when I know something for sure I will start a new thread both places, maybe the 50$ worth of phone calls and a week of work will pay off...........
