Folks, my truck started to disengage the cruise by it self. It warys how long it will stay on. Some times only 30 sec, other times it will stay on until I disengage it myself. Is it an early warning of my PMD going bad ?
SES codes were only about the EGR the last time I checked.

Another strange thing. Have any of you experienced that the engine will rew up and down vere quickly sometimes when mowing the gear lever from D to P ? Like a foot was shaking rapidly and light on the throttle ??? It makes the danish farmer confused :hihi:

Regards

my 1995 1500 PMD started acting strange at about 140000 and my 2000 3500 at about 130000. Have you changed the PMD already?

The revving sounds like a PMD issue. For some time now i have been trying to draw a parrellel between lower battery voltage and PMD brown outs within the logic circuit and or insuffiecient amperage to drive the fuel solenoid. It would apprear that a lot of time this happens is when you first start the truck and prior to the alternator to get the charge back up. If your battery voltage is low even just a bit, by the time you cycle the plugs and turn the starter there may be not enough left to run the truck clean. The single leg voltage regulator in the PMD can barely keep a steady voltage to begin with as to the poor power supply design.
The PCM does OK at 10.7 volts and will still run most things but the PMD will fail at that voltage. The MJ15004gs will still switch but the current to the solenoid is so low it can't fire the poppet. The closure time signal is now screwed up and the clock interpretuer faults while the engine tries to figure out what the optical sensor is saying but can read through a short. |This can also throw 1216 1217 codes sending folks off to buy new pumps.
Anyway thats my $3.02

The PMD is about 1,5 years old but does not have many miles on it. Allright, I will order a spare to carry with me in the glovebox then to be ready.
Thank you

My last failure of the PMD showed this problem.

After several years of life on the manifold, I finally moved the PMD to the bumper. Shortly there after the cruise control quit working. I continued to drive it for 6 months or so when the PMD finally failed.
