I'm going to call tomorrow and set up an appointment to go get new tires. I'm going to a 285 on the stock rims for the time being so I'm going to need to crank my bars. I'll need an alignment done and would like to do the alignment with the new tires on there. The problem.....the tire place is a little over an hour away ( found a great deal out there).
Not sure if the place does alignments ( I'll ask tomorrow). If they don't I'm not sure what I'll do. Would really like to not drive it an hour home on the interstate with cranked bars, not aligned, and on brand new tires.

Will the tire place be cranking the T bars for you while your there? If they cant align it maybe they can suggest someone close to them. You may also need to trim the valance. That can be done with a nice sharp utility knife.

well, looks like I might not be heading out that way. He was sold out and said he wouldn't be getting any more in. He did have a couple tires that were priced really well, Federal Couragia ($147) and Maxxis Buckshot($165). I've heard of the Maxxis tire but don't know anyone that's ran them and I've never heard of that Federal tire. Not sure what I'm going to do at this point.

ordered these today....should have them here tomorrow or the next day.

Kuhmo mt kl71tires
16x8 unique rims

nothing spectacular really but good enough for me.

My brother ran those tires, a couple sets I believe. They're good in snow and mud but wear fairly quickly. Mind you most of the time his truck weighs 10-11k lbs.

I really like those wheels. Those will look real sharp on your truck. Make sure to post some pictures when you get them on. I don't know anyone who have ran the Khumo's, but I really like that tread. Hopefully with timely rotation they'll last you sometime.

I've ran kuhmo's on the front of my firebird, my gto, our old gtp, blazer, and my old truck. I've always had a good experience with them. Hopefully these hold up just as well but this truck is considerably heavier than anything we've owned so far. I'll definitely update at some point with my opinion on the tires.

these weren't the wheels I wanted really but they'll do. I really can't justify the high dollar wheels with as how hard I am on my trucks. It's one thing to tear up a cheap wheel but it would hurt to trash an expensive one. I think it'll look nice....I'll put pics up after I get them put on. I will be doing my rotations on schedule. Been down that road before.

here's something that bothers me. I went yesterday to the local Discount tire and had them price out this exact same combo.....$1666.
I then decided that I was going to settle for a cheaper tire. Pep boys carries a Definity Dakota which is made by Cooper so I went there and looked at those $133 a tire with buy 3 get 1 free via a mail in rebate ( pretty dang good deal really). Pep boys really didn't have any rims so I went to another discount tire and went to order those rims. The guy asked if I was having them install them and I said "No, pep boys is because they have a cheaper tire deal." He asked what they were and I had the quote in my pocket so I showed it to him and at the same time told him I really wanted Kuhmo's but they were a little pricey for my tastes (not really pricey, just more than I wanted to spend).
He looks at everything and gives me an instant buy 3 get 1 free on the Kuhmo's.... $1277 installed for everything. That's almost a $400 difference off the same exact package I asked about the day before at a different Discount tire. How many people buy that first offer and how much lower would they have went are the 2 things I keep thinking about. I'm happy I got the deal I got so I'm good there but it'll make me not trust them from now on.
