We're talking big boy M1008/1028 CUCV here, not the Blazer. I know it has ran in the past. I think the batteries are probably a bit low today, and I know it's got a problem somewhere in the glow plug controller/relay/thingy. It was jump started with an M35 last year sometime, so I know it does run, just not right now.

I think it's from AK ANG, it's got most of one of those uber cold weather kits on it, including the hole in the driver's side fender. I would like to replace the bed, it's got some obnoxious dents in it. I'd like to remove the rest of that arctic crap and get a whole driver's side fender. I've been under the hood, the wiring needs help...lots of help.

I can buy it cheap, pretty damned cheap...should I?

And what would you do with it after pouring a bunch of cash into it?

I either get it for the running gear to put under my '83, or it gets fixed up enough to run up and down the mountains for my dad. The '76 in my signature is getting really tired, plus it's only a half ton.

the wiring wouldn't be that bad, just time consuming. and if you wanted to do the 12V conversion...... BUt I gotta agree the a grand isn't to bad.

I still miss my K30 5/4 ton granny-low 4speed gasser , even tho' I have a great 3500HD to replace it ! It was the "SS427 Yenko camaro" of trucks.

I'll take it (delivered of course ).

M1008's command a decent price in good shape with clean paper. Like Bud said, the axles alone go for over a g used. Wiring is simple on these. Heck you could gut the whole harness and use a harness out of a civilian one or buy a used Mil harness from Saturn Supply or Boyce. I love my M1008. It's brute. Remember the rear axle is going to be a detriot locker and the ration is almost certain to be 4.56. 9x out of 10 glowplug problems on a CUCV can be traced to some idiot somewhere putting 24v ones in. The glowplugs are 12v. It uses the same ones a civvy 6.2/6.5 uses.
