Hinge pin repair

I replaced door hinge pins and worn bushings. Easiest way to do it, I think, is to use engine hoist. I lifted the door up just so much to take the load of from the hinge.
I used a shield between door and fender.
First I removed the spring, then pins and the bushings. Installed new bushings, applied grease between hinges and put new pins.
Hardest part is to put the spring back. I put the spring in a benchwise and used ties to hold it down.

Make sure you use a bunch of good quality zip ties. I found that out the hard way. Like making a bomb! I made a jig with a floor jack when i did mine, worked ok.

I used the engine hoist also. I used a 3" nylon load strap in a figure 8 pattern around the door bottom and the upper side of the window frame to lift and stabilize the door. The hoist works real good.
