Anyone know of some semi-easy to get ahold of switches that will look factory-ish, or better then some exposed toggles? I'd like to put two switches in (preferably below the cargo light switch). I have the push button 4x4, so that spot is out. Also, is there anywhere other then the GM dealer to get the pins? I know it's not great on the engine to sit at low idle for extended periods of time, and that big hunk of iron takes a LONG time to warm up when it's -10° out :D

I'm also wondering about those pins, are they some standardized pins you can get at a well supplied electronics outlet? I think I really need to get this mod done..

These are the best I can find so far, I sent them a message asking about getting a "high idle" made or two separate switches...maybe labeled with the RPMs. I'm sure more messages would help our cause.

Click online store then dash switches.

I looked around quite a bit for factory-style switches. The best I could find was a cargo light - but it's pricey and you'd need two. I ended up with two mini-toggles from Radio Shack. They're only about an inch long and I mounted them (side by side) in one of those 3 spaces to the right of the cluster. IIRC, they were about $3 each.

I bought the pins from a dealer. I bought 10 of them for a couple dollars.

I just used a toggle. It's chrome hahaha...a little bling in the cab don't hurt haha.

Pins come from GM dealer.

You are right when you say you really need to get the mod done. I put it off forever and I am so glad I did it.

I was able to find pins that worked fine at the local parts store, CAP i believe, on one of those carosel's with other misc electrical connectors.

I also use it all the time.

I used a 2-way Rocker. one direction its 1000 rpm, the other way 1300. I warm up on 1000, and use 1300 for jumping others, or just fro troubleshooting engine alone. 95% I just use the 1000.

Its just a healther idle for your rig... more oil displacement

i do high idles for customers all the time i use a very small rocker switch from radio shack i forget the number but they all stock them and they are cheap. you drill a 3/8 hole and the rocker is only 1"x 1" i mount them in the dash in the gauge bezel just to the left of the steering wheel it looks slick

Here is a pic of the switches I found, that I think match the stock dash reasonably well. These switches are routinely available at Advance Auto & O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Ive had this site bookmarked on my computer for a long time now. As soon as I get around to doing my high idle im gonna use one of these. I feel the same way you do about the chrome toggle switches.....wanted something that looked a bit closer to factory.

Now if you cant find what you are looking for here....good luck. This site has everything, switches, indicator lights, timers, you name it. I found it looking for replacement liftgate switches for our trucks at work. Hope this helps.
