He was being towed into a parking lot by a Ford. Fuel filter leaking and lift pump rattling with no flow.

I ran him up the street to the parts store, used my discount, and we changed the filter. No stock of lift pumps. Would have changed it if I could have gotten one.

Used the gas cap and what little the lift pump had left with a jump to get it running. :thumbsup:

Gave him this site and a parts list including the harmonic balancer for the belt drive.

He had several kids with him and it was 94 degrees out. I hope it made it home.

I helped out a couple Alaska guys who were Nevada bound and got stranded with a dodge diesel around this time last year,....took about a week to get that wreck going again.;)

In the mean time they had to stick it out with me,..they took it not too bad though.:D
 
Good job. When ever I see a 6.5 on the road I am always curious if they know much about them or frequent any of the forums. Also if they have had any of the common issues with them and been reamed over by a dealer or shop to fix it.
 
OK good job WW, but I get to pat myself on the back today also.
I was at a Walmart years ago and saw a 1993 6.5 truck, so put my card on the door. He called me a month ago to ask for advise because it was running poorly. Long story short: I told him to R&R OPS. I got another call today from him saying he R&Red the LP, but it was still running like poop. First thing I ask was did you R&R OPS? he said no! I told him again to R&R OPS, so he did and about an hour later he called saying it was running great.
