Hi I have a 97 k2500 6.5 the pmd has been moved to the bumper pmd just replaced a week ago the truck sometimes starts fine sometimes and runs good other times cranks longer to start and no power and the cruise will not work shut the truck off and restrate and everything goes back to normal and ideas helpful

check and clean your grounds, pay special attention to the 3 at the back of the manifold on the trans dipstick. also check batt connections for corrosion

Do load test on the batteries one at a time?

Do a Lift Pump test?

Better yet, do the Whole Diagnostic Checklist from the sticky instead of bits and pieces.

A bad PMD can impact the cruise (prevent engagement of the cruise). Since you just replaced the PMD, Verify your extension cable (is it purchased or mikeymoused?).

While checking the grounds, check the PMD ground wire on the IP. Make sure it is connected to the IP and it is clean.

But as JMJnet mentioned, use and post the check list.
