Both, the trip and odometer stopped working today. Speedo still works fine. This comes one day after I replaced the starter. When I topped off the fuel tank last night, I reset the trip odometer, as I always do, since my fuel sending unit is fubar. Keeping track of miles traveled is only way I can keep track of how much fuel is in the tank. They both stopped working at 19.6 miles into this tank. So I know it quit today. Everything else is fine, no SES lights, etc. Is this a mechanical, or electrical fix? Any clues where to start are appreciated.

Mine stopped working on a reset once (today believe it or not) and I reset it again and it started working again. It must have been stuck.

The odometer is electronic, run off of integrated circuits and a stepper motor, which probably also operates the trip meter.

If you like the diagnostic for the speedo is to disconnect vehicle speed sensor calibrator, turn key to ON. The pink/black wire to a chassis ground should have battery voltage, if its less than the battery could have a short or something, but the speedo works so not likely.
Check to make sure you get the same voltage between the pink/black and the black/white wires.

Yes, I tried the reset gig, it reset to zero fine, but still no go. Like I mentioned, it's both odometer and trip meter. The speedo is working fine. So being electronic, it must be something bad in the electronics in the speedo head itself. Thanks for the direction....

Yeah, it cant be serviced since it is electronic, has to be completely swapped. But I thought you might want to check those lines in case they caused it to fail.
