I have a 02 with with everything listed below still being used on my truck. The problem is at highway speed or almost anything above 2000 RPM the truck cuts out like it quits getting fuel for a split second and will continue to burp till i let off the the pedal. some time it will repeat if i give it gas some times it will work like it is supposed to. This started after I picked up my new 5th wheel trailer. It has bin random and is starting to happen more often. I have changed the fuel filter and taken the truck back to its stock tune ( removed both the chip and the programmer) Nether of which have changed the way the truck is cutting out. If you read if there is any codes being set it says that there is undetected codes set which will say it 3 or 4 times. Is there a throttle positioning switch that could going bad??? Or injection pump??? Any help would be great.
Thanks
I have bin stacked with the triple dog and edge for awhile now not with the predator like it says below.

I guess you have to do a bunch if little things first to eliminate the easy stuff. Check to see if the fuel filter is keeping a prime by trying to pump it with the bleeder closed. Shouldn't be able to push it easy. With the bleeder cracked are you squirting fuel right away? Check the MAF for crap on the wire since you have an aftermarket filter. Check all the connectors on all the sensors. That's just for starters.

Would what you mention above create the problem i am having above 2000 rpm???

I moved this thread from the off-topic section to the engine specific section for better responses. Can anyone help out Wyomax please?

Losing prime enough to alter flow at a higher RPM and The MAF can set hidden codes if it's dirty and oiled up and therefore cause intermittant sensing and performance issues.

I agree. Look at the fuel filter, and clean the MAF sensor first.

Did you read the codes with a Tech2?

LB7 guys: Do your trucks have injector wiring harnesses like LLYs?

I wonder what the rail pressure is running at when this happens, maybe if someone can hook up a Tech 2 or EFI Live can give it some commands to see if the rail psi will go to the desired psi, if not this could be a culbrit

Check to see if your intake tube is attached to the turbine inlet. I had my AFE tube come off my 04.5 LLY at one point and it did exactly what you describe. It was getting too much unfiltered air and basically retarding the motor above 2 grand. The MAF couldn't time or fuel the motor without any air flow numbers.
