Got off the phone with Alcan Leaf Springs earlier today. Based on progress they should have my rear leaf springs done this week about Thursday. Which means they will be at my house next week ready for install. On that note I'm trying to find a good tire / wheel combo to go on Big Blue.

I found these beauties! There called Buckshots by American Outlaw in the Black Machined finish.:D They are going to be 17x9" wheels with the 8x6.5" bolt pattern. Assuming I go with these.

Now I'm having a hard time finding a tire to go with it. I want 35's to balance out and compliment the lift. Right now I'm mostly focused on a tire better for street use(like the nitto terra grapplers , Goodyear Wrangler AT's and whatnot) since I still have no T-case or front driveline. And based on things going on it may be a while. Somebody wanna help a guy out? All this metric to inch conversions and different tire places has me really:confused:

315-70-17 is what I run on my truck. It's a little under 35in tall. I have 35-12.50-17 MT's as well and they are a little taller

Found these. Did my research of course and read the reviews. Like any product it had its occasional "worst tire ever" comment but 95% of them where all around the idea "great tire, quiet, and I got 50,000+miles out of them and they still could have kept going."

Obviously they are built to mount on a 17"wheel but the thing that's still confusing me is whether or not the width will be proper for a 9" wide wheel. Any idea's?

Oh and major thanks for the links for the metric conversions. it was a huge help  Went into this looking at all the tire sizes and choices and said :mad2::sad: then with a little help may have got my heading. You guys think these tires would be good with those wheels?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Both of those I'm going to decline on. The moto metals have a bit to much black to them and the Hummer's are to silver. I enjoy the look of a well balanced mix of Chrome/machined and black. Hence why I choose the wheels I did. Black seems to make the truck to dark. And my stock wheels where silver. I painted to centers black to balance it out.

A little more homework and research shows me that the 315-70-R17's have a width of approximately 12" and are 6" short of being 35's. General rule of thumb seems to be 4" of difference between rim width and the tire. 9+4=13 so it looks like I'm good.

Time to order me some new Claws and paws!

If you look at the manufacturers site, copper in your case, they tell you what wheels widths are approved for the tire. 8.5 to 10in wide wheels will work.

Thanks Joey. That's what I had found, but in various spots across the web.

I got everything ordered :D Discount tire direct had the wheels I like(the buckshot's above) for a great price plus free shipping. Then after a conversation with the sales rep Wyatt, he was able to sell me on the Yokahama Geolander A/T's. Great price, great reputation with the tire, manufacturers defect warranty as well as the warranty covering the tire for its lifetime. Basically, if I hit pothole and blow up the tire, they ship me a new one free.

Everything is coming assembled, balanced, and ready to bolt up. He even modified the order so my front lugs are for the Dana 44HD and the rear lugs are for the 14B FF. We'll see if it was worth it. I think a review / writeup would be in order here as well If I like how everything works out.

Now begins the wait... Leaf springs, wheels and tires are all scheduled to arrive late next week. The UPS guy is gonna have his work cut out for him.):h all this stuff is HEAVY.

If the wheels and tires are together, they'll probably come on a semi, on a pallet. That's how they came for my Tahoe.

I have had them delivered from UPS in the brown truck loose, mounted and balanced on new wheels.

Exactly. I have the tracking number for UPS in my email from them. I don't expect a pallet, though with the leaf springs expected the exact same week/time frame, it just may end up on a pallet all compiled together.

Don't really matter to me. Just looking forward to seeing everything make it over here safe and sound in a quick fashion.
