Has anybody eliminated the stock body lift on the 2008(or newer) trucks. And maybe gone with a traditional lift , and which one?
Hate seeing the frame.
Does the allison interfere with this proposal?

I believe you'll run into problems on the clearance of the Allison. It's a BIG one..

Maybe add a set of step bars? They help cover the frame and look well on the truck.

Thats a good point with the step bars. These things have had a 2" body lift since 2001 when they started putting the Allisons in the HD trucks. This is also why the 'Burbans never got the Dmax/Allison.

Everyone has nothing but good things to say about Cognito. Its top of the line and we have sponsors here who specialize in that.

x3 on step bars, I really REALLY like the factory oval ones. Like Nick mentioned, Cognito would be the best place to go for suspension alterations.
