HELP-changing alt on the side of the road

anybody change the alt in a parking lot 200 miles from home,2006 duramax ,i did my 2002 in 15 mins,but 06' they changed the tensioner pully and i think i've got to take off the airbox,and lower intercooler tube ,i heard its a 2-3hr job ,,any thoughts????????

Removing the airbox,and lower intercooler tube make it much easier to get a ratchet on the tensioner. I had to do the same to change a belt a few weeks ago. Good luck with the change....

Yes you do have to remove the air box and itntercooler tube, but i wouldn't say its a 2-3 hour job.
 
got it done,i didn't have to r&r the intercooler tube,i used a 2 piece serp wrench and managed to snake it in from the top/driverside,only took 40 mins
