I just wanted to say thanks to Todd and Heath diesel. I have the remote mount PMD kit from them I bought 4-5 years ago. I took the family to Yellowstone and we started out last Saturday from Sacramento, CA area and got just past Verdi, NV and the truck shut off and while coasting it restarted itself. I was transferring fuel at the time and thought maybe an air bubble or something went through. We went to Winnemucca and when I shut the cruise off it died and wouldn't start right on the off ramp. I unplugged it and plugged in the one on the injection pump. I ran to Rexburg, ID and when I had it idling it stalled but restarted. I continued on to Yellowstone, when I ws backing in the trailer it stalled again, but started right back up. I called Heath and talked to Todd on Monday. He sent me out a new kit on Monday and said I would have it on Wednesday. No questions asked. It showed up at the campground on Wednesday just like he said. Fixed the problem. Just a great company to do business with. No BS, no excuses, they just fix the problem. Thanks again Todd and Heath diesel.

Good to hear. They have had my business and will have it again in the future!

When did your chevy die in Winnemucca? :) had to help dad do a parking lot fuel pump swap in his 2000 in sig a week ago thursday

Glad to hear on heath! I feel a tad bit more costly, but customer service seems great (from what i hear)

I have to agree with the above statement. This is the first time I have ever herd of a Heath PMD/FSD failing!

I will say Heath stands behind everything he sales!

Smart move by Bill. Great service. Knows your camping w/family and doesn't want your vaca turned into a truck repair ordeal. Great to hear!

Last Saturday about noon at the exit for Winnemucca BLVD by the Flying J.

That must be the failure spot. It was right after there that my truck started acting up on my trip this past thanks giving. Winnemucca must have something against guy's from Sacramento.

I tried calling you last week and your phone went right to vmail. Now I know why.

Didn't you have another spare in your glove box?

They have had several fail but not many, at end of the day it is still a man made component subject to assembly or component life issue, which IMO is why one needs the 7yr warranty, mine is 5 years young, but I still carry a "used but good" spare for the just in case need for one.

The one on my Tahoe is still good on the pump. It was working perfectly when I relocated it so I know in a pinch I can always plug it back in.

I had a "good one on IP" or so I thought it had 6 miles on it after 1st warranty IP swap, when I retired it for the underhood mount DSG(3x failed) and then the Heath 0 fails thus far, when my IP "went bad" :D at 119,997 miles (how "lucky" can a guy get having a fail just before warranty ran out last year).

I plugged in the "new" 6 mile driver that had been installed on IP since 2000, it didn't work. Why it didn't work was beyond me, since it was a warranty item I didn't try to find out, but since that experience I don't trust on IP as a viable location to count on as a spare, I carry my DSG unit as my spare these days in my glove box or tool box.

Yeah. I had the one you borrowed for your trip in my tool box. That was the one that got me off the side of the road in Winnemucca. I plugged that one in and just left it lay there on top to get into the parking lot. We ate lunch and once it cooled off a little after lunch I plugged the one in on the pump. It got me to Rexburg, ID with no problems. We went to Bear World and when we came out I fired it up and was waiting for my buddy to go, and my truck died, but restarted. At this point I just wanted to get to Yellowstone. When we went into the park, my truck did fine in the mornings when it was cold. Around lunch time we came out and it wouldn't start. So I threw the other PMD I had on and just kept switching them out as we were heading back to camp.

The one I got off ebay failed a month later so I'm back to using the stock location. The
remote failed in northern Va.

It was a rough trip. I had a buddy traveling with us as well wth his Powerstroke and trailer also. He blew a tire on his trailer just after Verdi. Then we get to Winnemucca and my truck died. Then we get to Jerome, ID to sleep for the night and when we pull in to the Flying J, he hears a ting ting ting while his truck is idling.

So I'm in my trailer making some food, and he comes over and says he's done, his turbo is taking a crap. So luckily my brother-in-law is with us also(they are tent camping), so the next morning we hook up my buddies trailer to there Dodge to tow the rest of the way to Yellowstone, so that he can just baby the F-350 the rest of the way.

I commented on a bouncy ride I am getting and my truck just feels like it's riding funny, and they both say there's are doing the same thing. Well, about 90 miles from West Yellowstone, it was getting worse, but I figured I would get there and on Monday take it to a tire shop and check all my tires.

30 miles away, my left rear tire blew. So in less than 10 minutes, my buddy and I had my tire changed and we were on our way again. We get to the campground, and the PS is leaking trans. fluid pretty bad(it's a manual). We get all set up at the campground. I find a Big O in Rexburg who ordered me a tire. My buddy found a Ford dealership in Rexburg and ordered a turbo. We went to Rexburg on Wednesday and picked up both.

My kit came from Heath on Wednesday. So it was looking good. Got up Friday morning and my buddy heard a noise on his truck again. Then it went away pretty quick. He was hoping it was a belt squeek. We get to Truckee, CA with no problems other than his trans leaking. Around Cisco Grove he passes me and it wasn't sounding good.

He said is trans. was getting hard to shift and making a weird rattle noise. One block from his house, he beeps me on the Nextel and says he just had another tire blow out on his trailer. It was a fun, but rough trip. Luckily all my stuff was warrentied. It was pretty expensive for my buddy. He had $1000 for the turbo and $135 for the tire at Les Schwab in Winnemucca for the trailer. My parents were in PA for 3 months, and then went to MT. Rushmore for a week, and then met us in Yellowstone the same day we got there.

So my Dad decided to stay another week since he didn't get to fish the week we were there. And my Mom called tonight and said this morning my Dad's Powerstroke didn't want to start and once it did it puffed out a ton of black smoke. So when I am done here I am going to call him back and see what's up. This is the first time mine or my Dad's truck have ever given us any problems. He's made 2 trips in the last year across the country to PA without issue.

I am wondering if the fuel in Wes Yellowstone is good quality. My buddies PS didn't start first try a few mornings, and mine would fire right up, but smoke more than normal. And when it was warm mine puffed out smoke way more than it normally does. So maybe the quality of the fuel isn't good.

Superduty PS's are know for weak Torque convertors. I was lucky, mine was under warranty. A jing a ling noise is usually what comes first.
