My 06 duramax Lbz is leaking coolant from the fitting over the back of the engine. Kinda top center on the firewall.

Is there an upgraded fix to get rid the snap fitting?

Most people will tell you the quick snap fittings work great. Knock on wood... I've had no problems with them and even after all the miles they are easy to take off and put back on. Unlike hoses that are squished with a worm clamp.

You have to realize I'm a 6.5 guy with a dmax. We get rid of quick connects and replace them with barbed ends.

What brand of quick connect is recommended?

NAPA sells the quick connect by itself. GM will sell you the whole heater hose normally. Theres no real upgrade for them, and be careful the heater core is plastic on some of them and can break easily.

Just as simple as unhooking one connection and hooking up another? Any special tools needed to crimp?

Split a hose on the 08 LMM and dealer used a heater hose over the heater fitting and worm clamped it down. (Part not in stock.) Got us home. Dripped 6 months later but the turbo heat shield boiled it off.

Yeah, I've had a slow leak for awhile but never could find the wet spot. It was dripping over the turbo area. This week I got a pretty good stream going.
