hi im new to the forum so sorry if i make any mistakes. I have a 98 6.5 turbo type S. A few weeks ago i had a trouble getting power and had codes coming up saying that my turbo sensor a cicuirt low and rang/performance so i took it in to the shop and they relpaced the turbo sensor and now i have power and the engine light has went out. But i can not get over 120 very easy and it will die once and a while and drop to idle speed some time when im pulling i was wondering what else would be the problem would be and i have no codes coming up

Most likely a bad lift pump.

Check lp pressure by opening brass t-valve with truck idling....

x2, i had the same symptoms.. no top end, just floated along above 70-75mph.. no power for anything..

once i opened the T valve, nothing came out, and while i was scurried to jump the lift pump and see if it would start pumping.. truck died within 7-10 secs

lift pump was bad

how do i know if my lift pump is not working because i opened the T valve and i have diesel coming out of it

The LP might still be working but it could be on it's way out (Tired, at the end of it's life, not enough PSI, etc.).........Same senerio with the OPS, at idle it could be ok,.....but once you load it up, it fails....

Must check LP PSI and then go from there, you need a a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to the T valve, so you can see what's going on while driving.

Fill out the diagnostic check list.

i was just wondering again with the lp how much preasure is there when it is good and will it make the truck stall once and a while or lose rpm and pick back up again
