My brother just bought a 2000 F250 powerstroke... the previous owner left "bullydog powered" stickers on each side of the cab...(it was bought at a dealership so no contact with original owner) is there a way to tell or a place to look to see if it is still has a tune loaded or is chipped or a box on it? Where would he look for the obvious clues?(I have not seen the truck yet so I couldn't look)
also...there is no knob anywhere on/under the dash that he can see...

he'd like to put something for mileage on it but if he has a chip, box or tune loaded, stacking things might end up with worse results...

If a tune is loaded how would he know and how would he get it back to stock other than asking a dealership to flash it back to stock?

Thanks guys,

Pepp

They can be programmed with a tuner or use a box or chip. I would look at the ecm located under the dash mounted to the parking brake assy. If there isn't anything there and nothing visible under the dash and hood then the only other possibility is a tuner. The dealer may be able to help him out there. If he is looking for a good setup for the 7.3 I think his best option would be to go with some custom tuning via a chip. Hope this helps.
