Has anyone told you that you are wonderful today?

Hi there. I'm brand new to the forum and need help with my 4L80E in my 1995 safari trek traverse. It Has problems shifting into drive and grinds a bitand slips out or shall I say the overdrive and now I was backing out of a driveway and it went into reverse but when I stepped on the gas a bit harder it slipped out of reverse. It sounds like it wants to move but just slides forward. I am in someone else's driveway and I need to fix this asap. I realize that I may have to call a tow truck. Please help!

Welcome to the forum! sounds like the transmission is loosing it's ghost. how is the fluid level and color. I would definitely not drive it any further. start of by replacing the fluid and filter seeing if there is any difference. other than that it probably needs a rebuild.
