Hi guys,

The alternator on the 95 Tahoe is dying (it's making a chirping noise and the output is low).

I decided to try to do an upgrade, and ended up buying one of these...

(STAFF EDIT:removed clickable link to comply with site rules)

Yes, I should have checked with you guys first, but I did get a recommendation years ago from a forum member, and I pushed the "buy" button.

I was tempted to get their dual-rectifier model, but it's clear it wouldn't fit without a bunch of work fabbing up new mounting brackets.

Does anyone have any good recommendations or reviews here?

Thanks,

Rob :)

There are threads on here about that swap, Burning Oil may be one who has done it. IIRC a mod to the bracket had to be made.

I did the CS144 swap. Yes, you do have to do a bit of fab work to the upper and rear brackets, but worth every bit of effort. See if you can find Burning Oils' write-up on it. The way he did it was easier than what I did.

I did take pics of what I did if you need them. I'd just need to look for them.
