My truck started to shake unexpectedly this evening. I end up stopping to fuel up and found the outer ring of the balancer came off and was forward to the pulley I could grab it and move it around. I have a Fluidamper coming over night tomorrow. Is there anything I need to know about installing the dampener?

You know that the balancer consist of 2 parts: the harmonic balancer which is replaced by Fluiddampr and the harmonic balancer pulley or sometimes called crank pulley on top of the harmonic balancer.

The pulley is installed on by 4 bolts to the harmonic balancer. The HB itself needs a bolt pulley puller to r&r.

Thanks guy's I knew the process I figure I'd ask if the Fluidampener had any tricks to the install. Much appreciate the responses.;)

Big dollar balancer

Hopefully the engine didn't suffer any ill effects.

Heh-heh..., just your wallet 'eh?

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the new one and how much?

I end up calling Jeg's just to see if they had it. They are closer than Bill and I need it fast. I think it was $469 with over night service. IIRC it was $419....

Installer the Fluidampener today. it went pretty smooth no hang-ups or anything out of the ordinary. Thanks guys for all your responses. Here are some pics of the carnage and the new products.

It definetly smoothed the engine quite a bit. I don't know what the difference would be between a stock one and the Fluidampener, but I can say once you do buy one you will never worry about the HB again. I think the motor mounts may need replacing, they look ok but I don't know if it would make a difference by changing them. Another thing is I am thinking of adding a stainless flex bellow in the exhaust between the downpipe and the muffler to stop any possible vibration from the ultra long 4" exhaust pipe.

AK, Yes, the IC makes a big difference on IAT's I think I will one day do some serious reconstruction and fit a bigger one. But for the GM8 turbo this IC works with the flow rates of the turbo. I have a custom 60-1 turbo that I will be using but I will run it with a bigger IC that will flow enough to match with that turbo. I also have a external wastegate that I will run with that turbo too.
BT, Thanks on the compliment. I think Santa is bring me a set of 22 semi's ;)

I know Matt, no plowing for me. I like them lifted too! If mine were a 4X4 it would be a set of 22.5's and a slight lift. I like the sporty stance of a dropped truck but when they drag the frame I have to say that is too extreme for my taste.
