Ok guys here it goes.... I know there have been threads done on this but they are all over the place and not just one worked for me, it was a combination of all of them. For over a year now my truck has been hard starting and slow cranking in the mornings, blowing white smoke and not hitting on all cylinders until it wormed up..... So the first thing I did was check all my battery cables sure enough I had loose cables. I might also add that I did get rid of the stock cable ends and put after market ones on big difference. Well that helped out some but it still was hard to start, so I seen a tread on here about opening up the heart to more air. I removed the snorkel from the wheel well, cleaned the CDR valve with dawn dish soap (DO NOT USE SOLVENTS) and all the lines coming the CDR as well as the air cleaner. (Let them dry) The next thing I did was to replace all of my vacuum lines whether they looked good or not sure enough I did find one that had a small leak it but it looked good. Fuel was next I inspected the fuel lines and found that I had a leak just below the T valve... I repaired that. Next was the fuel cap, I had always heard a gush of air when I opened the fuel cap. I took it off cleaned it (Or just go buy a new one but make sure it is for a diesel) I also had my PMD relocated in the front grill but I wasn’t satisfied with how it grounded so I added a grounding strap to it. Now the conclusion I can go out to the truck and turn the key and it cranks fast and fires up after a second. Like today it was 34 degrees out truck not plugged in and fires right up. In the past it would have not started. Now I know there is some out there that say some of what I did had nothing to do with the hard starting but in my book it did, and my truck starts like new again. So if your truck is hard to start in the mornings give this a shot first, it doesn’t cost but a few dollars and some time. Good luck to you all.
