I set out to do the grounds on my truck tonight and got all done except for the beotch under the heater hose connections on the fire wall. Does the passenger side wheel well have to come out or can it be accessed from underneath? :mad2:

You can at least see what you're doing with the inner fender off. I go with multiple grounds from frame to engine and frame to body. I put them where you can actually see to clean them. I use real cable not the flimsy flat straps that corrode.

I was thinking of running another wire that was more easily servicable, but was wondering if the original spot was there for a reason. Maybe under the dash there is a common ground block there or something and is important for ECM correct operation. Does any body know for sure???

If you are worried about it, Simply daisy chain a ground strap from the engine to the frame and to the body in a spot where you can get at it.

Leave the others where they are and No Worries.

The sheetmetal is the ground not a particular stud or spot.

The issue is to be sure that the engine, the frame and the body are all tied together in the ground circuit along with the NEG side of the Batteries too.

The two ground wires in the wiring harness that fasten to the rear of the engines intake manifold are critical to proper electronics opperation.

All the basic ground straps that tie the engine frame and body can be anywhere and work fine.

Exactly what I did. I ran an extra PS NEg to Frame, PS NEg to block, Block to Cab, Block to Frame, and DS Neg to frame.

I just cleaned all grounds and I'm still stalling here and there. Not sure whats up.

thanks guys and gal I thinks I will just run the extra ground. What was GM thinking when they put it there!!!!! Some day I will clean it just ... because it is there.
