Fellow "up the road" (well, 20 mins) has a crank, rods and pistons from a 6.5.

Asking 75 bucks. Probably beat him down to 50 if I tried.

Assuming the journals are in good shape, is it worth it?

I'm just looking for the crank and rods, as the pistons will probably get tossed in the rebuild (well, unless everything falls within spec - bores, pistons, etc)

I'm going to begin accumulating 6.5 parts for a rebuild seeing as my 404 000 km engine is closer to the end than the beginning.

It seem the search for a good block is going to be the hardest part.

I'd like to find a good 506 block (yes, I hear you all laughing!) and work on building a lower "girdle" of my own design. Yup, I can do that stuff it's just a matter of whether or not I can afford it. Working in aerospace gives me.........."access".......to some useful resources and people.

An optimizer or p400 would be nice, but outside of my price range. At least, it is in an "all at once" type of purchase......

Sounds like a fair deal to me for $50. I bought a complete [without starter and alt] 929 last week for $160. If you were closer I'd sell you a 506 block that had the #8 piston melted.

Oh okay, just wondering cause I was told someone in my area inquired about something, and was trying to figure out who it was is all lol.

But, if that crank isn't scored and can be polished up I'd pick it up for sure.
