Got Smoke?? nope

Ok I asked this somewhere else too and i tried filling out my signature but im not sure it works yet.

My truck doesnt smoke very much at all.

I have a hypertech 3 stage tuner. I can get a little black smoke to come out by stomping it from a standstill, but not very much. Is that bad? Good? I assume most of it is getting burned but i dont know anything.

The truck is straight piped, i cut the muffler out the other day. Other than that, its stock. All but one of the injectors have been replaced

the hypertech probably doesnt deliver enough fuel to make it smoke like a monster. that little puff is gonna be about all you get with that "little" tuner

Not to bad for 85 HP. My new EFI tune smokes pretty well. I'll see if I can find a video of the bullydog maxed out on 140HP tune.

like I stated in the other thread you really need bigger tunes for more smoke. However good canned big power tunes dont smoke much as they burn up most of the fuel.

My smoke tune smokes about the same as my power tunewhen I stomp on it or lug it down, but my power tune cleans up good and burns all of the fuel making ridiculous EGTs and a lot of annoying timing rattle.

Big smoke shows are hard to come by on ULSD.

Mine doesn't smoke a whole lot unless i hammer it from low rpm's and low (almost none) boost pressures. Even then, the smoke clears up pretty quick. I ran the Bully Dog on Crazy Larry for a few days on my truck. It smoked alot more than my Edge but didn't shift near as nice. So what you're seeing is pretty much normal

I haven't been able to tell much of a difference as far as smoke goes between the two fuels.

Higher sulfur = more soot.

and more sulfur dioxide kind of the main reason they kept lowering the sulfur content.
