I'm looking at getting a set of these tomorrow http://www.walmart.com/ip/Goodyear-Wrangler-Authority-Tire-LT265-75R16/11983160
Unfortunately Walmart is all I can afford at the moment but I have already talked to the guys there and had them mount a spare and they seem to know their stuff. Anyways anyone have any comments on the tires themselves? I wanted to get BFG All Terrains but they're about $50 more and they don't have them in stock. The Goodyears seem to have decent tread themselves so I'm pretty optimistic about them

I bought a couple by the same name from Canadian Tire,(local tires store was out of stock). They wore pretty good and had good traction in snow and mud.

They were listed fairly reasonable but after paying mounting and balancing charges they were just as much money. Tire shop prices include mounting and balancing.

Looks like a loud tread pattern and that usually means they wear faster. I get 60 to 70k on BFG ATs but I only run pavement 95+% of the time. But they are high $.

Good grip but about 20K-25K life from them. They will hook in a frozen car wash. I liked the traction towing through blizzards, but, the life from them wasn't good.

Walmart tires seem to be a different/softer rubber compound. My buddy has a set and they aren't too loud at all. He only has 5k on them and doesn't tow. So far they still look new. They are on a 04 1500 dodge 4x4 and I would say he has an aggressive driving style.

Hmm...might have to talk to my dad about them as we tow my boat...and 25K...I'll have to see if Walmart has a bit better tire as I am tight on money but really don't want to have to replace them in 25K

Don't want to start any huge discussions but have you considered Treadwright.com? There are others here using them. I've had the set on my truck for 2 years now and very pleased. Hard pressed to beat the prices.

My main problem with online ordering is I need them like NOW. Just the other day I had one rip open on the highway...thankfully I was half a mile from my grandparents. As I said my plan is tomorrow to ask Walmart higher mile rated tires. I'll also see what their warranty is on early wear and if they wear out early I'll just complain

Tire rack ships fairly quick. They have several distribution centers if you are near one = bonus!
Sam's club is a good place to get tires I have bought many there over the years. (Yes I know Sams = Walmart but they have different deals). Goodyear has several rebates going on for truck tires BTW.
