So today I went after installing a brake controller in our Suburban, as we need it to haul our Horse Trailer to the fair tomorrow, as I'll be following in our Duramax and our buddy's Camper. So I did some googling, and found this absolute gem:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f463/2008-suburban-installing-brake-controler-44321.html

The write-up was exactly what I needed. A quick parts run for some hardware (1- 8mm coarse nut, 1-6mm Coarse nut and some washers), piece of aluminum stock and a fuse ($4.55 @ dealer) later, a few crimp connectors and zip-ties later, I was in business. I had already purchased a used Prodigy on another forum where a guy had bought it and never used it or whatever, so overall I probably spent $70, instead of $200+ to have it installed.

Just wanted to share, in case anyone else wants/needs to do this, if your truck, like ours, didn't come with the factory brake controller.

I pretty much copied the write-up spot on. If it isn't broken, why fix it? It's also in a great spot, you can see it through the bottom hole in the wheel, and there is no interference with your legs when getting in and while driving.
