I am going to add a fuel pressure gauge and ran across Glowshift. I hear you get what you pay for and Glowshift is quite a bit cheaper that it's competition. Anybody got anything good or bad to say about them?
Thx,
Bob

They are junk and fall under the old term you get what you pay for. A few people have had good luck with them.

If you want a cheap fuel pressure gauge get a mechanical and run the tube with copper. There is a few people on here that have done this.

After some more searching I found some info where guys were having trouble getting the Glowshift to read the low pressures that our pumps run. And they didn't get any help from Glowshift. I will probably go with a Stewart Warner but I hope they don't have the same problem with the low pressure reading.

If you are going to do something, do it right.

Find an autometer gauge....shop around on ebay and you might find a deal...

I wouldn't recommend Glo Shift to anyone...if you would like I can shoot you some pricing on an Autometer, Diprocol, or Isspro setup.

I like the looks of them, and the fact you can easily daisy-chain one gauge to the next to supply the power, ground, and illumination.

However, my fuel guage reads backwards, and support sux. The website anyhow. I've never tried calling them. I just got use to 1/2 means Full, and FULL means empty...

They look fantastic though. But Function is better than look.

Glowshift digital guages suck. I dont know about the others. Tranny temp display lost half the lights for the numbers within 6 months, the fuel pressure doesnt register below 10psi, and the boost/vacuum gauge is nice, but doesnt adapt to changes in elevation, so its low a few psi at 5000ft elevation.

They did replace mine. Havent installed the new ones yet. They recognized their fuel pressure gauge doesnt work below 10psi, a sender issue. They couldnt understand how lower atmospheric pressure caused it to read boost/vacuum wrong, and I had to explain it.

I have a glowshift fuel pressure gauge. They kept sending me new sending units free of charge until I finally figured out the problem after performing an autopsy.

Our fuel pressure chatters a lot and the sending unit wears out prematurely due to the constant rubbing on the thin wire that measures resistance.

On someones recommendation I installed a "snubber" which is just a needle valve that I had in the shop leftover from another project. Ever since I installed the "snubber" I have had no issues with the gauge. I piped in a manual gauge under the hood with some extra tubing in case the electric one ever fails.

Some may ask why I went through so much trouble rather than just buying a better quality gauge. My answer: I had the extra parts in my shop and like tinkering too much.

Great thread i almost bought a set then ran across this thank-you all for your input.):h
