My glow plugs in my 93 are glowing for like 30 seconds or more when cold started or warm, or hot...ANd after it starts they stay on for like 15 or more seconds....My last ones all were toast but 3, so i figured changing them would fix this problem, well all it fixed was making it start...Anyone got any ideas?? Am I smarter to replaces the module or just convert it to manual glow setup?? I put AC60G glow plugs in it as thats what I was told needed to be in it for the manual conversion....Did that as a just in case...

x3 or if you like tinkering, pull the old one apart and clean the contacts - they're sticking.

IIRC when I replaced mine it was a little over a hundred bucks at NAPA.

...after I spent the money I found a great writeup here (by Turbine Doc - I think) of a little tutorial with pix on how to clean em.

Ok, thanks guys!!! I might take it off and see if I can take it apart and fix it...Otherwise gotta get a new one...My 94 did this same thing but replaced glow plugs and it fixed that problem so figured id "ask the experts"..Thanks again!!!

Even if I inplug the sensor in the thermostat housing the problem is the same...I used to have to jiggle the wires on the relay to make it fire the plugs till I replaced them all(unknown if I fixed accidently pulling on the wires)...But at any rate, anyone know what a new one might cost?? Im thinking new might be my best route...And is the 180 thermostats any good?? mines got a 195 and tends to run around 200ish in the summer when getting on it(pump was turned up all the way supposedly..)....

As stated before the thermostat does notta for your glows, your pre-PCM 1993 glow controller has a self contained temp detector that uses radiant heat into the engine bay to decide how long to glow.
