I went to FL last week for a band trip, and my dad arranged to get new tires on it, without talking to me. I guess they're Firestones in 265/75R16, and they put them on all of the local construction company's trucks. I have a feeling they're more highway oriented, and I hope not, but fear that's the case. If they are, I'm not going to be happy, because I know I'll bury the truck to the frame the first time I hit mud. But, they're $150 a tire, and are supposed to ride well and wear well, so we'll see.

True, but I'm in charge of maintenance, and he respects my opinion, so I'm upset he didn't at least tell me when he did it.

The tires are Firestone Transforce A/T in 265/75R16. Now we need to get the computer re-programmed for the larger tires, what tuner would you all reccommend? Something under $400, and has multiple power levels, that will read and clear DTC's. Brand doesn't matter too much.

ppe , you can get him to buy the standard one and then you can upgrade it when you buy the truck

Me buying the truck is a long (read: 10 years, minimum) ways off. I think I'll look at the PPE. Dad says it should go to the dealer and get that and the HVAC sensor fixed (I broke it, and the HVAC is goofy now), but I'd rather fix the part myself and get a tuner.

Ouch. We can't afford the $600 PPE Xcelerator, unless they make a different hand held tuner.

transforce will get yoiu buried in wet grass, we have them on all our work vans and well dmax has too much power for them to bite. I use a ppe with 3 levels you will like the truck response, i think its smooth. i want efi live tho

Who makes the predator? We have the transforce's on our other farm truck, a 2000 1500 Z71, and they're decent, I just didn't want them on the d-max. Oh well, when dad's walking to get the tractor, he'll only have himself to blame.
