Hello guys!

as my topic say i have a problem with my gear box 4L60E.

iv'e recently changed the engien to the exakt same as the previus one. (the old one broke)

but when i started up the car and test drove it something gone crazy with the gear box, first 3 gears works just fine, but it takes about 3 mins with almsot full gas for the gear box to shift up to 4th gear, but as soon the 4th gear is in all my gears works even if i stop the car with the engien on.

but when i tryd to turn of the engien for about 3 seconds i have to repet the same again until i get to the 4th gear.

does anyone ever had this problem before? is there something of electronik box that is broken? or do i have to change something in the car computer to make it work together with the new engien somehow?

the engien is a 6.5 TD

sorry for my bad english but i hope you guys understand my question :)

Need more details on your truck. For starters the 4L60E never came behind a 6.5L turbo from the factory. I think a few 6.5's without turbos slipped out in 1500 light duty trucks, but most any 6.5L truck has the 4L80E trans behind it. So unless the european market is that different from the US, you most likely have a 4L80E trans. And without the year of it and knowing wether it is an electronic injection pump or mechanical, it is tough to help you any furthur.

By looking at his user name Im going to guess a 1995 Chevy truck. If so it will have a 4L80E.
I'd make sure all the sensors are plugged in and in good condition. 2WD or 4x4?. Do you have any codes?

hello again guys! sorry for the bad information,
it's an chevy silverado 1995 1500 4x4 6.5diesel with turbo.
i guess the gear box is an 4L80E like you guys said.

is the sensors on the gearbox under the truck?
and how do i check them?
i'll get the codes in a few days i'm waiting for my mechanic to find a computer with chevrolet installed.
it's pretty hard to find any mechanic in sweden who has experience with armerican trucks, that why i ask you guys :)

Speed sensors are on driver side of trans, just make sure they are plugged in and wires are in good shape. Codes will probably help the most.

sorry for my bad english but i hope you guys understand my question :)

Recommend to get in touch with KojoPower as he is not only good with the 6.5, but suspect he probably can communicate in a more familiar language :)

Let us know how it goes ;)
