Anyone here do any garden tractor pulling? Right now I'm working on a Bolens G16XT with a 16 horse Briggs that should be done for next season. I need to rebuild the engine (.010 over), and port & polish it. Then fab up a couple BIG stacks for it, make a hitch, and a couple weight bars. Then a re-paint.

I put some mud tires on my ole dixie (after pic was taken) and she pulls like my truck as long as i can get grip

Those Dixie Chppers are awesome mowers. I'd love to see someone pull with one, hint, hint. As for tires, Ag tires and turf treads are the only ones allowed in the class I'm building for. I think cut tires are allowed though.

I have these tires. I push dumpsters and trucks with it when they are in the way at the casino and truckstop i cut.:D

I was never much into the little tractors. I have pulled a JD210 and a JD318 before, but unless you run the supermods or smoker deisel class, not enough adrenelin in it for me. I would enjoy building one of the smoker deisels though, thoes garden tractors are badass!

Now if ya want to talk about pulling a real tractor... :ciappa: I have a few of the old 2cyl Deere's that I hit the track with a few times a year.

I wish there were Diesel garden tractor classes around here. It'd be fun to build a little mini version of the Pro-Stocks. One of the Sr's in Diesel Tech last year built a diesel garden tractor puller. He used an old (real old) Bolens, streched the frame, and put a small 3 cyl Kubota on it. Sent the pump out to get it adjusted, and added a small turbo off like the VW's. It sounded like a little mini Cummins.

We also have a JD 317 and a 330 Diesel, but they are strictly yard work machines.

Me an dad have built Simplicity Pro Stocks. I have an old 2012 that loves to pull, but we play with the big boys with the XT190.

how about some pics of the 2cyls

Now that's a pull. I'm still trying to find a source of parts before I go any further with this. Wouldn't make much sense to put a bunch of time and money into something that I can't get all the parts for.

i'd liek to see what the JD X595 4x4 diesel would do. Dad's not too keen on the idea but the engine would've gotten a turbo and the pump adjusted, etc etc.

The only thing i'd be worried about is the hydrostatic drive system and breaking something on it. The tractor's pushed a 4BT full size Fedex truck up an icy driveway last winter in 4x4 when the driver didn't realize how bad the neighbors driveway really was. That was one heck of a load considering it's a N/A diesel. It's not a garden tractor per-se but it's till a fun toy. :D

Me and my buddy have took a honda lawn mower frame and put a yamaha 225 3 wheeler motor and rear end in it. It is a pretty fun little rig.
