I suck at searching and finding anything.

There are couple of threads or posts here by people that had fuel leaks and when tracking them down they found their Injection Pump was leaking.

The 1996 has a major fuel leak. But it has no leak down or any noticeable issues. So I assumed it was a return line.

For the people that had the IP issues, Did you have hard start or leak down issues as well?

Just trying to guestimate the possibilities before I pull things apart.

If it wasn't for the puddle, you would never know the Suburban had a fuel issue. Just wanted to know if this eliminates the IP as a possible source.

The way a couple of the posts read. - from what I remember - The posters issues were the same as mine and they were surprised to find it was the IP.

All I want for Christmas is a heated shop. LOL

Start with the bleeder Valve and make sure it's closed.

Check the fuel shut off solenoid; the original style would start to leak at the top.

Trace everything with a light starting underneath.

This is a massive leak, There is a lot of fuel running out the back of the valley when the engine is running. I'm pretty sure it should be easy to find once I start looking

If it's running out of the back of the valley, there's a good chance it's the FFM. I had a fuel leak about 6 months ago, and had to replace it. It could also just be one of the connections to the FFM is rotted or leaking. That's where I'd start since it's relatively easy to get to.

Well, you've got a pretty finite area to look at. Time to dig in as us couch mechanics are removed from the situation.

I would think if it was the FFM, it would have leak down / hard start issues. No?

Possibly. Mine only leaked under pressure while it was running. Once I shut it off, it would drip as the valley emptied, then no leak. Never had a hard start issue either. Only thing wrong with it was the puddle under it after it ran.

I used an inspection mirror and strong flashlight to id my IP was leaking. DB2 has weep hole in bottom I believe DS4 does to.
Like BigT said though you got to dig in there and find it. Can only be a couple sources in that area.

I put all new lines on my 95 and still have a leak. Semi hard starts but not what I would call leak down, just 300k mile ip issues.

Source Unknown

There are 2 o-ring inside FFM and 3 hoses outside the FFM.

All of those can leak with age.

2 hoses routed under the intake which are definitely brittle and ready to break.

My ffm was leaking through the fuel heater element(burn hole) and out the wire. The water in fuel sensor was leaking as well but not massive leak like fuel heater.
