fuel leak 6.5 1996

x2.

There are 2 o-ring on the fuel filter manager (fuel filter bowl) and 3 hoses.

All those are prone to leaking due to age.

Check the Technical Library, there are link to thread with pictures on those o-rings.

You're just gonna have to get in there and look.

It can be the fuel heater in the FFM, the WIF sensor, the filter ring, the fuel line to the IP, the water drain line or the lines to the FFM can be rusted or chaffed.

It could also be something up on the IP like the return line or feed lines.

My return line was leaking at the IP and the first indication was a drip out of the bellhousing. The fuel ran down the lifter valley and dropped out the back through the valley drain hole. If you don't have the drain tube in the hole (mine does not) it just drips into the bell housing and out on to the ground. Can be a bugger to track down.

Grab a flashlight and look a at the lifter valley in front of the FFM. If it's wet keep looking forward, if it's wet all the way up to the IP check for leaks there.

If it's dry half way up to the front, the problem is back by the FFM somewhere....
