Fuel hose for bleeder valve

it is, indeed, 1/4". I must have not had 1/4" when I replaced it last time (about 10 years ago) because the one I took off was 5/16". It turns out that it had started to crack at a bend. My guess is that the additional pressure from this Walbro I have not did it in if it was near the end of its life, anyhow.
 
I was calling it the wrong thing, I guess. It is for draining the dirt out of the fuel filter before changing. I haven't ever used it when changing out a filter, but I can see that it may be useful for that, in purging air.
