I'm exploring the source of a fuel leak on my '99. Appears to be from the cover of the fuel filter manager. However this cover is completely different from the one on the '95. The '95 has a plastic ring that screws down over the filter which has the cover built onto it and it's metal. Also, on the '95 the filter only fits one way into the notches of the fuel filter manager. The cover on the '99 is solid plastic and the filter is separate from the cover. Though there are the same notches in the fuel filter manager, this cover and filter do not lock in to them. Futhermore, the O-ring sits in the top of the cover and it escapes me how it seals over the notches in the fuel filter manager:
Is this a case of older is better? Should I just buy the threaded plastic ring hold down and use the old style filter?
