I don't like ceramic.

AutoZone Duras#it will disintegrate and trash a rotor. Rotors are not fun to change. They don't stop very well either when they do hold together.

You should look at the rear shoes and replace them with the $100 set if they are factory. This will help you to stop. Adjust them every oil change or 2. If you have a Suburban the proportioning valve needs to be updated.
 
I'm running RAYBESTOS advanced technology semi-metalics on mine and LOVE THEM. Only down side is they do make a lot of brake dust, but they more than make up for it in stopping power.
