With all my fuel tank (FSU) issues this past year I really haven't had a chance to look at my fuel economy in depth. I knew it was down but I didn't know how much. After cleaning my tank and fixing my baffle so it wouldn't come off a couple months ago I finally got a chance to check it out.

I was getting 10.5 mpg's. I thought my ffm was leaking but it never materialized. I had a k&N filter on last year but when I removed my airbox and just left it on the wheel well the rounded ends that hold the filter box on put a whole in the filter so I put on a stock air filter. Well, after seeing my poor mpg's I decided to take of my vacuum pump and put on a new k&N. The vac pump is still working properly w/ no probs. My fuel economy is back up to 13.5 where it was before all the tank problems started. Next thing I need is an ATT and a Heath reprogram.

I also struggled with FSU issues for the last year, and I'm not done yet, still needing to replace rear tank FSU to have a working fuel gauge again. But I will say this, Ever since installing an in cab fuel pressure gauge, I have gotten a whole bunch more confidence in my truck overall. Its nice to always see fuel pressure, and have no worries about whats going on in your tank/lines.

This is another thing I have been planning to do. The only problem is I like to buy local. I can't find fuel pressure gauges that would fit into a pod anywhere. They all have to be ordered. I may just have to get one of the bay.

You can get them at NAPA. They probably don't have them on the shelf but should have one for you by the next day. IIRC the price on the Stewart Warner electric was close to Summit's cost.

Thats the one I have. I like it very much. The only downside is the nighttime illumination, it glows (clear, green, or red) w/supplied bulb covers, but the glow just comes on the outside of the gauge, and doesn't pass through the numbers, or the needle. You can easily read it however.

Maybe it just doesn't look good next to my ISS PRO's which pass thru. Daytime it looks fantastic.

Works great, and perfect PSI layout for the 6.5 IMO. Best of all, cost is great.
