My wife planted over 100 tulip bulbs in the front yard of our second home in Big Bear Lake. They'll come out in late march up there. Yes it's the same Big Bear Lake where they've got the man hunt for the cop killer going on and everyone has been calling me about it. It snowed hard up there yesterday. So if he's outside in those mountains, he's a frozen fudgsicle by now.

I picked some fresh apples today.....out of the lunch box! :D

an inch or two of snow on me and the truck here at McCammon ID. sleeping in the truck was cheap, but it was cold as heck!

We've got daffodils sprouting up in this area. They're anywhere from just poking through the ground, to being up to 6" high. Spring is just around the corner here. Mid-day temps are in the 50's. Night temps are anywhere from the 40's, if it is raining, to the low to mid 30's during those times when we're having some of the cloudless times.

I saw some poking through the ground from when it was warm a few weeks ago. They are now buried under 30 inches of fresh snow from last night.

Yep no typo. I had to run the snow blower in the middle of the night so the do(english setter) could relieve himself. I was over his head. I had to rake the roofs on the house due to snow load. Its gonna rain in a few days and roof will get lots heavier. I'm in MA, Jersey only got 8 inches.

That's no dog, that's a ***** (cat).

Oddly enough, my crocus started to come up just last week, but now they are under a little snow. :D I hope they will be OK.

THANK YOU. looking at freezing rain and the eight inches of snow on the ground. At least I know spring is coming.

Well now thats not even funny.....ok maybe it is

Here in western CT we picked up somewhere between 28-32" Kind of hard to tell because it was blowing around quite a bit. Some places there is 4ft and others only 6". Tire chains were a must if you were plowing with a pickup this storm. And even with that we needed to use the tractor to break through alot of our driveways. Im sure all our northen friends are laughing at the chaos down here.

This rain is really screwing with things. We have been trying to clear any remaining snow off our greenhouses because of the weight. Had a friend lose one yesterday when the snow fell from the hay barn and flattened it. We have been hit with one thing after another these last few years it seems.....

I hear ya on being hit with everything that comes to new england. I spent one day with the snow blower and tractor removing snow just to get around. And yesterday raking roofs on the house and barns due to todays rain. Then I removed allthe snow around the buildings so the melt would flow away from the buildings. I installed a whole house generator after that halloween ice storm in 11 and reaped the rewards this past October storm.

For sure, we have not had any breaks from the past few storms and hurricanes. It certainly is a mess today, and it will continue for the next few days with all of the melt.

If we got 2 or 3 feet of snow here, we wouldn't move for a long time. Last Sat. we got 1" of snow and it filled the roads in pretty good.
