I believe the right place to post this is in the GL480E section. Though, it appears most of 6.5 crowd is here.:grouphug:

Mod, feel free to move it to the right section if you feel it should.

The question is : is it a good fhing to flush the tranny when changing oil or not ? I've heard about some kind of troubles doing so (blown gasket, TCC pollution, etc)...

If flushing is what should be done, what kind of tool do I have to use, any pic or ref # ?

At the same time (my rig has more than 230 000 kms), as a maintenace, is it a good thing to change solenoids, or is it useless ?

I think the best method is that machine that hooks up to the cooling lines and completely replaces the fluid as it passes through and out. I wouldn't go adding cleaning additives by any means what-so-ever, but that is ime.

I recommend flusing ONLY if you've changed the filter first, this gets rid of all the crap in the pan.

Then flush it. Its messy if you do it yourself and you need 2 people, remove the return line from the trans or cooler, then you put one end in a large bucket, another end in a bucket of oil, 20 litres will cover it, then have buddy start it and watch one empty as the other fills up, DON'T let it suck air.

That is the safest way to do it. Tranny shops AFAIK use a machine that forces it through and can damage the tranny.
