I'm test fitting some things before the resto starts, here are a few pics of a HE351VE sitting on a mock up motor.

Plenty of clearance and should be able to build a full 4" turbo back exhaust with a small amount of frame clearance. A small amount of clearance may be needed in the inside fender well also.

I will be using a BANSHEE II controller, full on the fly adjustments should work well for a tow rig...

OH, and no, this isn't a stock manifold, don't think it would fit as well with a 6.5 manni....

Help me think of things that need working out ahead of time here....

Turbo is water cooled, I have that worked out, a bung welded into the crossover for feed, water return will go to the top rad hose.

Oil feed & return... covered....

Wife will make a manifold & turbo blanket for me... covered....

CAC will be similar to my last setup so call that covered....

Air filter will be different, will pull fresh air from under the front end beside the cac area, working on that now also, much fab to do with this to get the filter out of the engine bay...

What else am I overlooking here????

It's the early Banks, the one they quit making years ago...

I'm looking into the feasibility of having some cast up and doing the machining in house, but that's a ways out for now...

Chris, This is the late Banks manifold, only used in 88-93 GMT400 chassis for 6.2L. The early manifold fits the 82-87 Style trucks and 88-91 subs and blazers.

I really like the mani you got there, makes putting something like this possible and neat.

Looks good. Is that a T3-T4 adapter sandwiched between the turbo and the manifold?

I just looked up that Banshee II controller. That is going to be a sweet setup!!

I didn't quite understand. Will the banshee controller allow it to function like stock?
Or is the controller just preset ting the vanes?

Cool. Looking forward to hearing how it performs.

Jasper kind of relatively like stock. It won't have the total programming power of all the ECM and PCM sensors of newer trucks. But it will use boost reference plus on the fly adjustable presets and gain control to allow the turbo to function variably with probably the most important reference (intake pressure). It will be like having an adjustable turbo size on the fly.

The controller comes supplied with the needed sensors.. Mine is being built with a 30lb boost top limit, their is a lot to it I can't explain there is lots on the web about the builder and the product....

And with all the sensors it performs like stock... BUT you can decide where the ramp starts.. last I know the turbine size goes from 3cm - 25cm.. for me, starting a heavy load with manual tranny, I'll like the quick spool to get up to road speed, then turn a knob and drop the back pressure / bigger turbine size so to speak, and not work the motor.... the controller does all the thinking..

I won't post links, youtube, 4btswaps, competition diesel.. etc,

The dodge folks are starting to use this turbo & controller in compound setup's because it's like having different turbos as needed.... something to think about there...
