So I Finally had some Extra Money to get the 2 CTEK Battery Tenders I want. They are Model 7002.

They are def ALOT Bigger than I thought they were, so Finding a Mounting Spot for them is going to be a lil tougher.

But the good thing is, no more Dead Batteries in the Morning for me!! :D

These things are Incredible though. They can bring a 20+ Year Old, Stone Dead Battery back to Like New Life.

Well, these things have been Working Flawlessly. If anyone has Starting Problems, you should DEF. Look into getting these.

I just got this Accessory to Add-On: http://www.shopatron.com/products/p...t/part_number=56-382/560.0.1.1.23204.0.0.0.0? You Permanently Attach it to the Battery. It has 3 Status LED's on it, Green (Good Battery, no need for a Charge), Yellow (Still Juice in the Battery, but should Charge it Soon), Red (Low Power, Charge Immediately). These can be Used without the Ctek Chargers as well. You can just Connect them to your Battery now, and let them Show you the Status of your Charging System, or Battery Condition.

They make a Few Different Versions of these too. 1 you Mount to the Battery, and it Stays Under the Hood. Another Version has a Long Run on Wire on it, so you can Mount it in the Vehicle somewhere On the Dash or Console.

Found Out my Batteries in the Duramax need Reconditioned "soon" and the Batteries in the Dodge need Reconditioned ASAP. As soon as I take the Ctek Off the Dodge, the Light goes Straight to Red, on the Duramax, it Stays Green, but Overnight will be Yellow by Morning.

got a couple of questions.
What size batteries(AH,cca) are you running?

Age of the batteries?

how long of a charge time does it take if you've ever killed them?

need to replace another battery charger(smart one to boot) but the standard ones or the "smart" ones don't seem to do much. so I was thinking this might be a better way to go. alot cheaper then new batteries. mine are 3yrs old.

AH: 68
CCA: 880
PHCA (for 5 Seconds): 1500

3 or 4 Years Old

From them being so Dead that the Starter just Clicks to Fully Charged, Turn the Key and Go: 4 Hours. But this was the First Time I ever Hooked Up the Ctek, so who know's what Condition the Batteries were REALLY in. The Ctek Analyzes the Condition of the Battery, and goes from there. So Basically, no 2 Charging Cycles are the Same.

These have a Recondition Feature as well to bring back totally Stone Dead Batteries. So before Buying another New Battery, get one of these, Recondition it, and go from there.

These are the Ones I have: http://smartercharger.com/ctek-multi-us-7002/

PHCA? :???:

I'm assuming dual batteries, 880CCA a piece. is the 4HR for one or both?

do you disconnect them from each other?

any particular reason for the size choice? I can get the 3300 locally, but was debating on the 7002 or maybe even the 25000. I know it's a big price difference but batteries ain't cheap.

Peak Hot Cranking Amps.

Yep, Dual Batteries, 880CCA each. Both were Installed the same Time, so they are Both 3 or 4 Years Old.

Never Disconnected them to Charge. Leave them Hooked Up as they are in the Truck, and just Connect to 1 of them, and Plug In the Charger and Leave it til I gotta Drive the Truck again.

I am gonna Pull the Batteries when I Recondition them though, just because of the High Voltage the 7002 Hits them with. Don't wanna Risk Frying anything In the Truck.

The 3300 can't Recondition an Old Battery / 7002 can...3300 only has a 4-Step Charging Process / 7002 has an 8-Step...3300 can't be Used as a Small Power Supply / 7002 can.

When I got the 7002, the 25000 wasn't Released, but it doesn't have a Specific Cold Weather or AGM Mode like the 3300 & 7002 do.

didn't see the no RECON on the 3300, I guess I'm down to 2. the cold weather option is a different design on the 25000 so I gotta do some research.

thanks for the info.

Did you mount the Ctek to the truck so you just plug it in or did you just run an eyelet out to plug it in to th ctek?

I have one installed on my truck as well and it took 3 solid days for the two batteries to go green. I always plug it in when I am home.

They aren't Mounted in the Truck yet, I just Pop the Hood and Connect it when I Use it. Gotta Wait til it's Warmer Out and I'll get them Mounted.

Damn, your Batteries must have been Shot even Worse than mine were. But I Bet they Crank ALOT better now than they did before.

I set mine on the 0.8 amp setting. The engineers at Ctek told me if I had the time, the slower the better. It took 3 days at 0.8 amps and all seems well. They never seemed down before, but it can't hurt to always leave them on the charger. I have the plug near my factory tow hook and hook it up in the garage a few days a week. Goes green every morning. hell, it goes green after about an hour now.

Put a CTEK on my New Used Wrangler Today.

Took it about 3 Hours to Recondition the Battery. Took the CTEK Off, Started the Wrangler, and DAMN, the thing Cranked so Fast, I thought it was gonna do a Barrel Roll in my Driveway.

These things are AWESOME!

just purchased one(7002) on Fleabay for $110 shipped

hope to keep these near $200 a piece optima blues for a long time...

thats about what they cost...except I bought mine as used from autozone(out of date) for $39 each...

I just bought the biggest blue top for the camper and that was $189

OK, the group 31 bluetops have always been a bit expensive. Be careful with some maintence chargers as AGM type batteries are pretty sensitive to float charge voltage. Since they have no liquid i nthem to speak of really, it isn't hard to crystalize the electrolite in the glass matting from overcharging. For campers and boats I always stuck with plain jane lead acid batteries myself. Gel is another good option. Also watch out for the memory problem that plagues AGM batteries when you often discharge them below 60% capacity and recharge them. Many new style chargersd now have a 14-5-15 volt abosrbtion charge to help offset this problem though. I know I have an IOTA charger in our trailer and just added the IQ4 4 stage charging module to it for $45 that turned my converter into a 4 stage charger. Many other brands of 12 volt converters also offer a small module that you can hook up to convert them into multi stage chargers as well.

Nice, you're def. gonna be Happy with it.

And for the Optima's, always put the CTEK on the Snowflake Setting, even if it's not Cold Outside.
