The new fuel filter element I installed this fall has started leaking around the plastic nut/spinner on the top of the FFM.
Got it tightend down until plastic meets the metal of the FFM, but it still leaks.

Is it common for a new filter element with a new o-ring to start leaking this early, or is it a symptom for something else thats going hay wire ? :rolleyes5:

Truck needs long cranking before starting, and figure this has to be solved before any more troubleshooting ?

regards Max

Yes, those are rather problematic sometimes if you get a filter that is not up to standard.

Last time it happened to me, try tightening it some more otherwise, you may want to get a new filter.

Do you have the plastic filter of metal one? You do have an oring in there right? It also has a very delicate metal ring that holds the oring in. Make sure its has not come out of position or it will never seal correctly.
