Eliminating the 4x4 Oil filter Adaptor. Any issues ?

My buddy is here with his 93 and the O rings were leaking on the 4x4 adapter. Since his truck has a 6 inch lift it is not nessicary for clearance. I just took the fitting out of it and screwed it right into the block. Seems ok.
 
as long as oil flow is in same direction I don't see a prolem. opp direction might dislodge some build up and run it thru the system
 
I think you done good. No need for a 90* adapter as long as the d-shaft will clear.

Good idea actually.
 
The 4x4 adapter dripping is just a way for your truck to permanently mark it's territory...
 
I need to get mine off of my 95 too. Cooler lines are leaking like crazy and the adapter has a slow drip, I think the qt it goes through every 5,000 is leaked in my drive way.

Is it ok to use an impact wrench on that nut? I was told no once but with a break over i can keep the socket on that flat nut.
