EGR Help

I have been throwing codes on my truck for several months now. Its related to the EGR. I am going to have a friend with EFI live disable it but I do want to know why its doing this...

here are the codes and my truck idles like crud...

P0489 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Ctrl Circ Low
P0540 Manifold Intake Air Heater Circ
P2144 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Vent Ctrl Circ Low
P2141 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Ctrl Circ Low

Could be the egr went bad.

Well it sounds like voltage on the EGR sensors... But I am not sure..

Mines done this 4 times now. Dealer fixed it first 3 times under 5/100k warranty. Falls within emissions I think they said so they replaced it. Last time it went, I was at ~110k, so no warranty. Same codes you're getting plus some. Something has to be causing the egr to go bad, but what I dont know.

So is that what they did replace the EGR?

yup. 3 times. I asked several times, whats causing the egr vlv to fail. Their response ... "bad design". I dont kknow about that, Im still convinced something else is making them fail, but what do I know. I think the best bet is to block it altogether and shut the cel's off. Its pretty much worthless on these trucks anyway.
